What about riding through the pedestrian tunnel under the Thames at Greenwich (provided it's not leaking!)?
That's a blast. We did that loads last year and it was always fun.

The docklands one works well. I led a very small group down there whilst I was singlespeed and they were fixed... much fun ;)

ok i'll see what I can do..
i love a history challenge!
It just so happens that I grew up in Bermondsey so know a bit about the area.
Have you done anything on the lost underground tributaries of the Thames? The Neckinger runs through Bermondsey, and joins the Thames at Jacobs Island which was where Dickens set Oliver Twist, the existing site is down near Shad thames, on the South Side of the river there are some nice backstreets heading towards rotherhithe from there, we can also go past the fire station used in the ITV series 'Londons Burning' which was next to my school - but I'm not sure how 'secret' that is.
Still, you at drinks tonight, I can rattle on about this for ever frankly.
Here's a nice link to Jacbob's Island to get you going. remember Wikipedia is your friend

Here's something else thats nice
[ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spa_Road_station[/ame]
Not sure of the access, but may be feasibleoh and we have to go and see the Tank!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:MandelaWayT34.jpg
I read something about this the other day, the guy who owns the land wasnt allowed by the council to build on it, so he applied to put a tank on it, the council thought he meant septic tank..hehehe apparently the gun is aimed toward the council offices. -

Clefty,
That Spa road station is very interesting. I lived in Bermondsey for a few years in the late 90s and I never realised there was an Old station there. Some of those roads near Shad Thames are cool too.
I say we kick down the door on the steps at the side of the ICA, this supposedly leads to the Whitehall tunnels. Then we compromise the inner door and all cycle towards Buckingham palace. Hopefully emerging triumphantly in the back Garden in time for one of Queenies Summer Garden parties.

Wow.
I just found out that there was also a station at Southwark Park just of Rotherhithe New Road.
Definitely need to include this area on the map. Though you do get a few 'interesting characters' around these areas at pub closing time. Probably best to try and avoid upsetting any of them if we do go down these routes. -
