    jon.

dude, i suggest you go out and buy some new cranks. those TA ones are the cheapest nastiest most likely to fold/break cranks ever made.

  • smallbrownbike, that was hilarious yesterday on the sheldon ride when Jump Around came over the sound system and you and sheep starting hopping at the lights. nice one dude.

add no brake; enjoy the leg muscles.

  • I'll be starting on a new build very soon, my first bike has gone to hell (stolen). Just putting up a load of bits from my trainer collection on ebay now to fund the parts!

    Nice ! :) Very Nice.

I like no brake in theory, but feel better having it as back-up. I do TRY not to use it though.

Thanks for the compliments Tynan. :)

  • tynan likes bikes with prominent rear ends, facilitated by incongruous splashes of colour.

He'd ride a chimpanzee or a baboon with a big shocking pink arse if it passed the weight weenies test on his scales.

Did you just indirectly call my bike a baboon with a shocking pink arse?

That's a warm welcome if I ever heard one... :D

    LOL! Baboonenger.

  • Love the Mercian! What are the rims? Rigida?

Hey man, nah they're 27" Jalco aeros... It took three days to de-anodise those bastards!! Never. Again.

  • teenslain: Deanodised?! Phew! How? Wet n Dry sandpaper? Or what? You must have really wanted shiny aeros huh. I saw some luurvley shiny Ofmegas (700) on a Jos bike recently, I know why did it.

I used jol's method (http://www.londonfgss.com/thread190.html), worked but took a load of applications of caustic soda to get the anodised layer off... I used wet and dry sponges from Halfords, steel wool and finished with Autosol... They're not really finished yet, they could do with another 3 or 4 hours of polishing, but to be honest I can't really face it at the moment... Gonna wait for a sunny day and do it in the garden with a case of beer next to me... They look a million times better now tho'... :)

  • They look great. Fairdoos!

Caustic soda is pretty darn evil. Definitely a garden job.

  • caustic soda
    steel wool
    wet and dry
    autosol

    that's a labour of love
