  • I rode one a Fuji Track today and loved it. Light-weight, track bike steering, no brakes, crap components... cheep kicks! I'd take one over a Charge Plug and you can get them here for the price of a heavy weekend.

  • Fuji yes, but fit a brake

  • fujis totally rock.

apart from the wheels. and the stem, maybe the cranks. and the bars.

but i used to love mine.

  • Fujis are good for the money - and the new 2008 one even looks nice...

You can get them even cheaper on Ebay.

  • So, after many test rides I bought beautiful fast sexy mf from Brick Lane Bikes (the woman in there thinks this website is wanky nonsense...??!!) Ended up paying £630 - am broke but in love. Thanks for all your advice. Nigel.

  • can you post some pics of the bike and details.

  • which lady?

a lot of her custom comes from this website.

  • A lot of the forum thinks BLB is wanky nonsense.

  • Too late to say BoBoB has a nice IRO for sale for £600, or check out if your work does the cycle2work scheme. Oh well.

That is actually apparently my fault. Make up your own mind as to whether we're wanky nonsense or they were in the wrong. (Still need to sort this out actually..)

  • im wanky non-sense because only one of my out fits matches my bike, to be street you need a bike for every outfit.

  • Bloody hell, I didn't realise Fuji Tracks were that cheap! Recently I've been quite keen to get down to Herne Hill and have a go, but been holding off in case I like it and then decide I need a second bike just for track... wouldn't be so bad now :)

nigelcharnock (the woman in there thinks this website is wanky nonsense...??!!)

    She sounds foreign?

I think I know the one you mean. When I bought my Pac she served me, and whilst she was fairly friendly, I just got the feeling that they really couldn't give a shit you. But then again, Condor are the same. The under-21-effect, I guess.

  • ok - BLB has a bad rep here. i think some of us overegg it. they have always been really nice to me, and i have no issues at all with their service. they've even opened up at 8pm when they were about to go home because i skidded through my tyre, sold me a new one, let me fix it in the shop, then closed up after. they have given me various things in the past, seatpost bolts, bar end plugs, the smaller bits and pieces, and sold me an oldish front wheel for £18, a shimano 600 rear brake for £4. they are an independent bike shop, as such, i feel they are worth supporting in this age of nasty mega-chains. whether or not you take your stronglight cranks there is another issue. jan, feyer are very nice people. aviva is nice if you catch her on the right day. i like it there, and i am prepared to pay a bit more to keep them in business.

that's about it really. i just don't think we should all jump on the 'BLB are satan' bandwagon so readily, when some of us been riding fixed for 8 seconds and can't fix an puncture.

  • Spoilsport :P

  • Let the killing begin.

    +1

although it BLB so it'll cost me +12 really

    you've been wapping warriored

  • Yeah i agree with pj - i've had good service from blb before they angle-ground my cranks.

  • asm they angle-ground my cranks.

    ahrem

  • +1
Yeah, it might seem a bit agricultural to the weenies, and it doesn't have that crazy track geometry everyone seems to go nuts for, but it's just plain nice to ride. Every time I have to move even my stripped down, aluminium, no-suspension mountain bike from one miserable, dank, lonely corner of the house to another, I remember how heavy bikes in the rest of the cycling world are.

+2, its great as a first fixed. I kept on crashing when I kept on forgetting that I couldn't freewheel ;)

  • A lot of the forum thinks BLB is wanky nonsense.

    LFGSS vs BLB

    Round One.

    !!!FIGHT!!!

  • ... or did i miss it?

  • er, i think it's about round 18.
