  • that's a tunnocks teacake. A brand name if you will. the generic teacake for all except those in hudderfield (was it?) a teacake is basically a hot-cross bun without the cross.

    FYI, that huddersfield variation is similar in Hull, where a plain bread roll (bap!) is called a bread cake (or ''bred kearke'' if you know the accent that means something to ya). Just so yoou know, in case you get confused in the chippy.
