try changing your ratio. I was having pain with 48:18. Replaced with 19 back and it's seriously much better. Don't like the gearing as much (not quite as fast), but it's made a big difference. Try it, Condor were selling their own brand sprockets for £15.
That being said, i could feel the pain when i was riding...
