Dunno about places to stay but if you're in Wells you're right in the middle of the best bit of coast i.e. between Burnham Overy and Blakeney. Wells itself is a bit rough but there are nice cottages there, and if you're just kipping there it'll be ok.
Or you could stay in this b&b.
Again don't know what it's like but it used to be my school! Not too far from the coast or a town with some good supplies like bakeries and that.
Good cycling to be had too, but watch out for metropolitan twats in 4x4's ripping down the country lanes going rah rah rah....
