Suggesting that you have to rant in order to inform the pedestrian that they are in the wrong does not say much for your skills of communication.
Like I say it is natural to 'rant' when in danger.
I would say my 'communication skills' in these situations are just as they should be, a clear expression of anger.
Anger has its use, the expression of anger in a situation where someone has risked your safety is 'right' and serves a purpose.
If you get the point across calmly but making sure they know they are in the wrong, then they may remember it for next time.
'may' remember it ? Not good enough for me, I will do my best to make sure they will remember it so there will no be a 'next time'.
If you just shout abuse at them, they'll just walk off thinking 'what a cunt'.
I am less worried about someone else's possible view of me and more so about both their safety and my own.
