We need a sneaker thread... I've got some unworn Colette Adicolor's (B1) US12 I need to shift...
-
• #6
the bike has taken over...I just want to keep my jordans. They're pretty much all i want to buy now and some of the older sb's. It's better to have an amazing bike you can ride and enjoy rather than a load of shoes sitting deadstock collecting dust!!!
-
• #7
does anyone know when the Jordan 23's are coming out? they do look tasty
-
• #8
So any crooked tongues peeps on here or what?
-
• #9

I've got sbs,AF1's and adidias's in uk 7 and uk 9 - most quickstrikes and hyperstrikes/Tier 0's - some i will depart with and some i wont (year of the dog AF1 - very nice). Once i finish uni in a few weeks, il spring clean and put up a list if anyone is interested.
Foot Patrols closing! sad times.

jodie_harsh been clean for over a year though and on the road to recovery
It's 'The Year of the Dunk' tho'... My willpower is weak, I generally find the temptation overwhelming... ;)
-
• #15
it may be the year of the dunk - BUT, i havent seen a n tnice pair with substance for a long time - just a bunch of new rave colours and thats it. Sneakers are now 'cool' and everyone loves trainers. The last thing i bought i think were the Adidas x hideout/colletes.
If i was too buy a new pair, id try get a few older pairs.
my 2pence.

^shit foot patrols closing...fuckin hell that is the end of an era.
Im going to be narrowing my collection down to about 10 pairs in the near future. I dont have the time, interest or money to be in that game any more.
Gonna be moving house soon and no longer can justfiy keeping all my pairs so ill prob be offloading alot of my adidas/nike/NB's either on kicksexchange or t'bay or potentially here.
Size 10 anyone?
To be honest I only really buy cough Vans these days. Mainly due to their simplicity and unwillingness to completely destroy respect for their brand by only releasing
classic sillouetes in rediculously hideous C/W's and materials. zx family anyone? travesty. -
• #17
yep, my vans seem to be mysteriously on my feet most days now....
the bay is rubbish - far too many fakes and far too many ppl buying them. If you've got a golden egg like a supreme or london dunk then your ok but monstly, you dot get a good price. i aw a pair of A1 condition zoo york x nike blazers go for £30 in a size 10.....i was gobsmacked - i was willing to part with £150-£200 a few years back for those.
I spoke to Wes at Footpatrol and he said they got a sale till the store closes and then they gona have an online store only. First Bond now FP, slowly and slowly soho is becoming completely 'Hugo Boss" and "Starbucks".
sickening. spits

Have you seen Andre's $5000 Paris Dunks on t'Bay. Madness. Should have held onto mine :(

its really sad....slammin as well. Just hope the hideout can keep on (not that i can afford to shop there)....though with FP going who knows.
Couldn't believe it when bond went that was really tragic. That was somewhere i always looked forward to going when shopping and for a long while was one of the only place selling decent 'streetwear'. Great shop, great people.
I guess overplayed brand hype, a slurge of really shit product and the internet has been the trainers scene downfall.
All we ever wanted was some nice reissues in OG c/w's and what did we get?
I blame BAPE entirely ;) for everything! -
• #20
reformed trainer bod here....real shame about footpatrol and bond.....i walked past the other week and and was where has bond gone :@ i had to sit down i was so perturbed
-

I know what you mean PeterD, blame BAPE.
all i ever wear now is vans and £3 plain tees - seems to work for me.
Theres a great article somewhere by Fujiwara and how he blames BAPE and cusses BAPE for the downfall of streetwear. I never wore BAPE; i mean, 'soulja boy" sings bout it, seriosuly?
I still have a few Mike Tees and Crooks Tees but never again! My friend Brian runs a compnat called To-orist - he's got some interesting pieces but they not really my cup-of-tea anymore. Although, some HeadPorter items and Neighborhood Items are tempting...
-
• #22
I think when BAPE first appeared i was tempted...but just couldn't bring myself to do it. I can understand your leanings towards Headporter/Neighborhood and ill add visvim to that as well. Nice understated and subtle.
You cant beat that. I Still have alot of time for certain streetwear brands...THE HUNDREDS stand out for me; a couple of years back i was really rocking alot of their stuff. Now im moving away from all that but their Public Label still throws up some nice more subtle pieces. You'll still find me wearing the occasional supreme cap though. The Future.......I think in terms of footwear the big players will have to go back to basics again to regain any credibility. -

I like FP. Thing is they were stuggling. Stussy is the money maker for the Gimme5 empire and they too have been struggling.
It's natural progression. I've watched the big brands keep pushing and pushing and it's terrible. Re-releasing everything, whilst at the same time destroying nostalgia for the original. I can't believe these companies are not pushing things forward. The best thing I guess was the ipod stuff and the 360 sole unit. (And look what happened to that!) Trainers haven't progressed. They need to. There's been no excitement in the last year or two and I'm hoping it totally dies down. Then it can all start up again. Even CT has become so quiet.
I've cycled everyday and apart from various vulcanised footwear, I occasionally bring out a pair of New Balance.
It's hard to appreciate trainers when they keep getting ruined by mass re-releases and too many styles.
Trainers used to be so futuristic. I never like tech stuff but the world needs it.
PeterD: I might've spotted you at the Barbican last week? -

Moisour Todd - you dont/didnt work in Offspring....?
I think you hit the nail on the noggin mate - trainers have not progressed. it was quite exciting a few years back an now......bland.
The CT site was a daily check but now is a mere click in a awkward thursday when your slightly bored.
Im still liking the new balance but even they have become a bit 'blah' with what they producing. The empire will surely but slowly die.

jodie_harsh Moisour Todd - you dont/didnt work in Offspring....?
.Yeah I did...for tooo long.
Was great at that time but I could see where it was heading.
If anyone on the boards are into their shoes, I have a fresh pair of the black stussy court force for sale in a size UK 7. I'm trying to fund for a new build so selling up a few pairs! Whisper me back with any offers.
