    alchemy recycled bags

  • I actually have a Seagull Black bag winging its way to me right now posted yesterday. £60 shipped; wait and see if Parcelforce sting me.

  • my girls got a segul on order

  • and i've got a grobag on order

    (got your back scott)

  • Seagull Black Bag arrived marked as gift item after huge Easter weekend caused delay so no customs fees.
4 weeks from order to delivery and for the price probably untouchable.

  • I really want one of yours but you are too fabulous and popular. But I think a no frills no options bag like this with a short lead time is a good idea. Hint hint.

  • you just did :)

im selling my scot bag and buying a black seagull

  • i consider them all essential in a messenger bag

I'd agree/disagree if I'd ever been a messenger and knew what the fck i was talking about but I think lots of hip hop slave bike twunts like me just want a big back sack that doesn't shift about too much whilst pedalling. You could do a diffusion line for the mass-market* whilst keeping the premium/pro Gro-Bag range for the cognoscenti.

    *it's all relative

eric was just on the phone, he said hes going to go on strike unless i an able to supply him with a decent bag for the job!

  • scott not scot sorry....when i say messenger bag....i just mean the style of bag...i consider almost all the features just as essential in any bag used whilst cycling....if a bag is uncomfortable or can't be compressed or moves around then it can be dangerous.....but as is always the case....everyone has there own list of priorities for bags as well as anything else....that's why i don't mind recommending other peoples bags....mine won't be for everyone....:)

aww come on, drop your standards, compromise and make some damn money; everyone else is doing it :)

after riding a chrome with out padding, i want a bag with it. its not bad, you just have to remember to put something flat on the side that rests on your back, commuters wont have a problem they can throw a book or a laptop there, but if you have to carry random odd sized packages all day then sometimes your riding with the corner of something jabbing your spine

  • So you have a liscence for Eric?

  • Well said my boy, prouuuuuwd of yer! :)

  • Looking at their website the Seagull Black Bag also lacks the second "over the shoulder" cross strap, having used first a PAC and now my lovely Grobag that both have this, I'd say it's absolutely essential if you're carrying even semi-serious loads, bags that don't have this just don't compare.

So the Seagull seems to fall into the same category as the Timbuk2, nice bag if you're not too demanding or can't/don't want to go to the expense of going after a PAC/Grobag/Bagaboo, but just not in the same ballpark in terms of usability/versatility.

  • I think the Unique-Selling-Point (checkout the lingo dontchaknow) for Grobags is they are the best fucking bags one guy who isn't that bothered about getting rich can possibly make.

I've owned several bags that just don't hold stuff solid or move about when unpacked. I ride so much with totally random bits on my back (several big ol' hardback books today, an SLR camera/flash gun & hard-drive yesterday, a melon and and 3 bottles of wine on Sunday – you get the idea) I'm willing to pay for the best bloody bag out there.

  • All I said to my wife was, 'That piece of halibut was good enough for Jehovah.'

  • Blasphemy! Blasphemy! He said "Jehovah".

  • stone him!
