London Fields used to know/run workshops where you could rock up and use their tools and get good advice. The bike shop is on Mare St,Hackney. Near the town hall and Hackney Empire.I think they might be able to point you in the right direction.

This is the one I think:

It's pretty good really, keen bloke almost as knowledgable as sheldon (heresy) runs it and they do everything inc. wheelbuilding.

If any of you are LCC members, they mention these type of courses in their magazine I think? Maybe check their website too.
I was wondering whether anyone knew of any bike courses out there. would be nice if they were in east london?
I'm currently in the process of getting my bike turned into SS/fixed and would love to know how to tinker around and stop wasting money on taking it into a bike shop. Any help much appreciated.
