About 15 years ago I was coming back from a club ride, cycling alongside another rider. Alll of a sudden this white Escort starts sounding its horn and trying to overtake - I turn around to see the driver waving wildly at me. At this moment the old ginger gene takes over and I tell the driver to fuck off etc... He overtakes and stops in the middle of the road. Can't get around him so stop as well. He then gets out of the car in his uniform - special cuntstable! Tells me that he's going to arrest me, told him to do it and that if he did I'd sue him for false arrest. Get back in his car and on his way...
Having said that, while I was at Uni Brighton Police had cops on mountain bikes, one of which was a UK mountain bike champion - not many people tended to outrun him.
