Round the back of covent garden there used to be the model makers where a lot of the models used by Gerry Anderson and Dr Who were made. I rember they used to have partially whited out windos and you could see the model of the spaceship used in Darlek Inavsion of Earth hanging from their ceiling. It's been redeveloped now of course.
Postman's Park is one popular spot, The George Inn, there's a raised churchyard somewhere near the city.

I thought my recommendations were quite good... :P
How is this ride going to work though - are we going to ride to places of minor fame and go 'oooh, well i never' then ride on? finding small/secret pubs is much better idea. :)

TCR's secret file storage place is a good call Hammo, there are loads of amazing covert spots like that all over the city. Although by definition, I suppose 'secret London' doesn't lend itself all that well to high profile landmarks!
I found out that one of the hills near my house isn't a hill at all, but a Victorian underground reservoir...will dig out a book called Underground London that was filled with references in this vein...
Loving the idea of this one...the theme almost seems like a natural extension of how much more you discover of a city when you are on a bike

Pendulum, band, playing at Brixton. I'm posing a change of date. I'd like to see Victoria's Secret too..
-
• #41
pj (pj) pendulum? what?
DnB cross over band. Originally from where I come from. Perth WA. Don't really like their new stuff as much. And Rob can't sing. Still Grey was the best thing they did IMO.

hippo, you can go fuck yourself, we're not changing the date. it's not as if you're going to turn up anyway, you antisocial condom packed with walnuts!!
-
• #47
Yes, the Hold Your Colour Pendulum.
Fuck you dogs. I don't see you on any of the rides that might, shock horror, leave London. You can go back to molesting yourself in front of old men you fucking anal rapist.
-
• #48
Pendulum aren't worth changing the date for
-

Everyone has the right to an opinion. It's just that yours is shit.

pendulum are alright, but the number of people who want to go to that concert versus the number of people on the night ride means that it's not worth changing the date. :)
since this is turning into the little-known-where-what-who, dunno if it's much of a secret...but i know where jim henson's old creature shop once was. where they produced/filmed "the muppets". that is, if the warehouse is still there....last i heard, they're demolishing it
in terms of hidden streets. loads of tiny lanes around the city, monument tube area. nice hidden pubs and restaurants....bit tight for 20+ cyclists but interesting (cobble stone, archways, etc). good place for a treasure hunt?
