that was our first practise i think or somethingl. we used to ave this amazing hard clay court that was so perfect but the council have gone and made it into a bmx track so now we have to play on a stupid basketball court. but it's ok just still a bit gutted we lost that amazing court.
and yeah we play with a smaller ball
anyway you lot coming for polo? need a place to stay?

I was thinking of maybe joining the night ride from Manchester to Formby (4th April). You know if anyone else is doing this fixed?
I'll see what time I've got available but would love to come across to "Mcr" for some fixed-gear stuff.
-
• #17
there are quite a lot of people riding fixed..not sure if i am or not yet cos i might need to take panniers but yeah lots are..it's real flat..
-
• #18
How was the night ride?
I couldn't make it in the end - a few too many beers after work on the Friday and it looked like being an 18mph headwind all the way ;)Did anyone do the dip in the sea at Formby? It must've been seriously cold!
-
• #19
it was ace..real cold though..but real nice. we're mcr making midnight rides a monthly thing now- every first friday of the month leaving at midnight from the sandbar (meet 1030 for drinks)- so if you wanna join us again you should..
the next one is a 2 dayer to a free party in the countryside..nice.no one swam it would have been crazy.

you coming to yo fixie this saturday?
-
• #21
nes, I would love to come on one of the night rides. Pop the details up on here somewhere or let me know where I can go to get them.
Yo Fixie may be a problem. I'ts at 2pm, right? I've got a friends childs birthday that starts at 11am, so may not be there for the start. How long is the event on for?
Hi folks,
I know its still a fair way off yet, but I know how much you lot like planning in advance, so...
Amongst all sorts of other bike related stuff happening as part of the I Bike MCR festival throughout April we have two events on the weekend of the 19th April I reckon a lot of you might fancy making the journey up to Manchester for...
Saturday 19th April... Yo Fixie comp: An event for fixed gear riders. With comps inc: Track Stand, Track Skid, Sprint and more. There'll probably be a bunch race like a street devil, and more too, but we'll figure that out nearer the time.
There'll be prizes and it'll be taking place outside a decent bar who are putting on outdoor hospitalities for us. Nice!
Next..,
Sunday 20th April... Bicycle Polo Tournament: After the Brick Lane BFF tournament last year its Manchester's turn to host. You know the deal, teams of 3 from all over the country battle it out blah blah. We should have a fair few teams from Manchester, as well as hopefully the Oxford and OAKENDEN PEDALLERS lot who were at the BFF. Again, there'll be prizes galore etc etc
So, just a heads up for everyone to come out of hibernation and start playing polo again (we need to too) and snap up all those cheap train tickets, maybe even book a minibus or sommit.
More details as they come in. Over to you...
