yep - it's that light! didn't realise replacement fittings were available. Result - end of story - cheers!
re: my reference to "only english one", i'm just relaying the series of events. no subtext intended. He WAS the only english one!
though, actually, i did get the impression that HE very much saw himself as "the only english one" in a less than benign way, like he thought the other guy was not capable of arguing the issue by himself...I mean my quarrel was with his colleague and he took it out of his hands for no apparent reason?
edit: plus - I'm not English either!
