I'll post more as i think. I lived there 5 years ago so much has probably changed... I remember The Earl, can't remember just where it is, and Star Bar in L5P being good gig venues/watering holes...

Go to trackside bar (can't remember where it is) if you wanna drink in a kinda dive bar.
Decatur is a nice area outside central - kinda artsy and chilled with some good coffee bars and stuff.
