  • I really like CXP30's, but I guess they're not in production anymore...

I even like the subtle Deep V's that Dale has in silver on Phil Wood hubs...

What are my options? Any help?

  • can't you get the rims off of a shopper?

i'm sure they'd fit your 36cm bob jackson.

"subtle deep vs" - there's a phrase you don't see that often. not unlike 'cheap track frame', or 'altruistic estate agent', or 'careful bus-driver'.

  • jos as some nice rigida's which are cheaper than deep v's ;)

  • open pros.

  • Sano I even like the subtle Deep V's that Dale has in silver on Phil Wood hubs...

since when was the deep v a light rim? weight = 582g.

Go for open pros. weight = 425g. Open pros are just as strong.

  • ooh, 150grams..

why not just not have that second helping of sticky toffee pudding?

  • Well if you say "ooh, only x grams difference" on every bike component, overall you're going to have a heavier bike even though you wanted a 'light' one.

  • oh you bugger.

always with the maths and the logic.

    well screw you.

  • pj (pj) ooh, 150grams..

why not just not have that second helping of sticky toffee pudding?

it's rotational weight which has a big effect on how a bike rides if the weight was added to a headset or seatpost the difference would be negligible.

  • +1

shaving 150g off your rims makes a huge difference compared to shaving 150g (300 for 2 wheelss?) off your frame especially for accelerating or climbing...

  • screw you too, i knew that.

  • scrwing me won't improve your performance....nor mine.

  • hmm..

    i must try harder.

  • winston scrwing me won't improve your performance....nor mine.

He's be 0.005g lighter, so perhaps it would ;)

  • oh, more than that.

    the lovin' tablespoonful.

    Et tu, PJ?

  • eeehhhh [quote]Sano I even like the subtle Deep V's that Dale has in silver on Phil Wood hubs...

I think Open pros are a bit boring looking - hence the CXP30 idea... Someone posted about their wheels earlier where they'd taken the stickers/graphics off the back wheel, but I'm buggered if I can find the link now. Any ideas?

  • i left a set in the car - let me grab them.

  • ah, cheers Murt

And PJ, you look like you're about to make off with one of those bikes in that shot... Dodgy scally tea leaf...

  • anyone know how these ride?

  • it was so exciting. axel merrckx was just out of shot. if he wasn't a six foot belgian son of a legend i woulda been off out of there with a bag of zipps before you say 'you're not as good as your dad'.

  • and he's saying 'why are you watching me, crazy man?'
