can't you solve the problem of getting your D-lock picked by simply locking it such that the key entrance faces away from the street, and can't be moved?
interested to read about the merits of smaller D-locks over bigger ones. Does this mean your bike is more secure wit a £30 mini-Kryptonite than a £60 large Granit X?
