thanx for the advice guys, think i shall take it and try the B roads. normally i have google maps on my phone so getting lost wouldn't be an issue but the phone's in the repair shop atm so i'll have to see if i can pick up a road map.....
Mudguards - check Lights (and lots of them) - check spare inner tubes - check puncture repair kit - check tools - check pump - check food (and lots of it) - check water (and lotts of it) - check beers mid route - don't even drink! wool - not got any, but as a hippy vegan i wouldn't want it anyways.
my only concern is that i'm currently running a 52x16 set up (yeah i know, long story, not really out of choice). lets just hope there are no fuck off hills on the way and the wind stays down.....
