  • Don't know if it was stupid or shrewd, but I just bought two ex-Keirin 58cm Vivalo's from Carnival in Tokyo. The plan is to sell one when I get back to the UK, make a bit of a profit and therefore be able to afford the one I bought for myself. Does anyone know what sort of price these frames go for? They are white with yellow detail and are in great condition (if it wasn't for the fact that I know they've been raced I'd have said "shop soiled").

E-bay, private sale or try and get someone like Hassan at Cavendish to do a commission sale? Views?

  • Sell it to meeee!!!!! I'm sure you could punt it onto someone here no problem... All depends how much profit you need to make I guess...
    Bloody resellers! ;)

  • Two other points:

    1. I'm getting back to England Easter weeked, so I'd be doing the sale no earlier than Tuesday 25th March

    2. Frame comes with a Sugino 75 BB and a NJS headset (I think it might have been Tange, but I didn't look past the NJS)

  • hmm not sure, the going rate is normally...

    ;)

  • Because they're so big there should be quite a demand for it. Think of a price that you would want to sell it for ideally and offer it here first. If no one takes it put it on eBay. I don't believe there are a lot of keirin frames out there in 58cm.

  • Pics?

  • Pics will be available as soon as I have my camera near a computer.

I think that 450GN would be the ideal price (which is the point at which mine become free, effectively). Once I'm back people can see them, buyer gets choice of the one they'd prefer (in case one gets scuffed in transit). Serioudly though, these frames are almost immaculate. They even have what I presume is the riders numbers on them!

  • I'm sure if one had a brain for maths, one could work out the original price.

'If one train is traveling at......."

  • 900Mph! ..no wait

  • yes, someone buy this and pay for tom's own frame. he gets a free frame and you get to be uber fashionable. everyone's a winner....i think...

  • there were a couple of big frames on NJS blog spot on the weekend, makino 55cm $US950 and panasonic 58cm $US980. although can get new NJS ones for roughly $1000

  • Vivalo have just had their NJS certification revoked, no?

  • Bungle Vivalo have just had their NJS certification revoked, no?

then you are fucked if you want to play hipster bingo.

  • yummy can't wait to see pictures...

You're only fucked for hipster bingo if someone takes a nail file to the BB casing, baby.

  • i'd say £450 is a fair price, considering you went to the effort of going to japan, brought it back from japan, and (provided the recipient lives in the london area) could practically deliver it to their doorstep. :)

  • I think that the drop outs are different on the ones I have, plus they are in white and not designed for midgets, of course.

  • Ebay - watch the hipsters (and me) flock. ;)

  • There's 3 on ebay at the mo Tom. Watch them to get a rough idea of what they go for then you can gauge your asking price

  • vivalo will get the njs mark back in time tho, they are still v.good steel' track' frames...

  • OK, here are the photos. Sorry that they aren't great, but I didn't think that I would be selling the frame until I was back in Blighty! I think that the one with white decals (the one you can't see as well) is slightly better; you'll note there is a little damage to the decals on the near one.

Proper photos in 10 days or so!

  • beautiful frames!

  • don't think you'll have much trouble with them

  • i can hear the clamour of keirin enthusiasts hipsters beating a path to their parents' bank account as i type.
