• I'm in the middle of buying a decent geared bike. I feel both morally and professionally obliged to do so ;)

  • If you wanna help the chances of this article appearing when you google her name you'll want to edit the thread title to include her name. And maybe if you have a blog link to this thread using her name...

Sometimes my job making websites rank in google mdoes come in handy

  • no offence to andy or roxy, but people should know better talking to reporters.

  • I'll be eating my chips out of alice fisher's words tomorrow.

    it'll be forgotten soon enough.

what do you expect from the Observer? I've seen better journalism in a student rag book

  • dogsballs no offence to andy or roxy, but people should know better talking to reporters.

    +1

unless they pay you a decent amount ;)

link to the injured cyclists fund in the article is there?

  • from a journalistic standpoint, there's hardly the same moral imperative to ensure that a feature in the weekend supplement is as accurate and balanced as a front-page news article should be. and i get why a last-minute letter about the brakes/no brakes debate would be ignored; i'm sure there are bigger fires to fight when you're on deadline. but this is rather poor journalism... poorly researched, over-sensationalised, pointless and pretty dull reading to boot. it's hard to defend it as an article. i think that ultimately, it's a throw-away piece that nobody will take much notice of...

  • alice fisher journoenger

  • A woman needs a man like a Fisher needs a bicycle.

  • Can one of the detractors highlight the points that they disagree with in this article? As I read it and fail to see anything that concerns me greatly.

  • the observer is a half decent paper, it's just that the standard of all journalism in this country is unbelievably low across the board

  • They should of talked to you Dale...

  • andypancake They should of talked to you Dale...
    only through my agent/lawyer :p

  • andypancake They should of talked to you Dale...

No they should have talked to nobody.

  • Vinz Can one of the detractors highlight the points that they disagree with in this article? As I read it and fail to see anything that concerns me greatly.
the fact that it jumps around 10 different things, worse that a schizophrenic with tourettes syndrome.

  • I disagree with it's implication that all fixed bikes are brakeless (and concurrent opinions formed on fixed wheels), and the ignorance of the fact that fixed wheel has been popular in Britain since the year dot, not just since the hallowed 'couriers' picked up on the inherent qualities of fixed wheel bikes. I also essentially disagree with the actual existence of the article, not to mention it being written by a 'style' journalist - but that is more to do with my personal dislike of newspapers and their agendas.

  • Alice Fisher.

  • The really dumb thing is that there are usually more than a handful of fixed-wheel bikes in the Garundia's bike shed.

  • scott not scot
aidan Alice Fisher.

hehe...i can sense you swapping windows between google and here...:)
maybe :) Alice Fisher of the observer

  • Alice Fisher of the observer...is that you?

  • Has anyone here had a blowjob from Alice Fisher of the Observer? whilst on Cialis or Viagra?

Or perhaps Alice Fisher is an Observer of anal sex orgies?

  • Jesus Christ! It was only a matter of time I suppose. Thing is though she obviously doesn't know fuck all about bikes and she's just written the piece as a 'trend'. The whole piece is written by a retard for people in Twickenham to think they might be able to get down with the kids! Pile of shit! This sums it up for me:

"The fixie’s simplicity and grace appeals to the fashion conscious, many of whom take customisation to extravagant levels, creating bikes with imported track-bike frames and hand-built wheels that cost thousands."

    Do fuck off Fisher!

  • Pistanator

"busty housewife fucked by two big black cocks"

  • maybe she's been hanging around brick la too much. was there yesterday and saw no less than 5 shiny fgbikes with no front brakes and just platform pedals

  • Pistanator Jesus Christ! It was only a matter of time I suppose.
