I agree with what tramps says, BUT if this is for your mercian with it's polished up old super record hubs then I'd think twice about cheap cogs cos 9as his advice makes clear) they're a lot less kind to the bubs. But then I never had a problem with normal cogs on Super Rocord hubs, so maybe it's on a different bike. Otherwise just ride without a lockring and make sure you have a front brake...
