Dale - first of all it's a 52t chainring which is a little large. Second of all they're 170 cranks and i'm getting pedal strike. Third of all it has far, far too many rounded out bolts for my liking, and fourth all of said bolts are loose. All of this plus riding brakeless = death. Also i have a set of 165 messengers with a BB that will fit.
Also it's a geoffrey butler if you believe the headbadge and stickers. ;)
Thanks for the socket wrench & crank extractor ben - massive help. Yeah it was still too small. I think i'll walk the bike to london fields tomorrow - I have everything off, just need the right crank extractor (and a new headset, god damnit.)
Fruitbat, i'd rather get them off with the right size tool, I want to avoid damaging them any more than I possibly already have! (they are definitely stronglight cranks) but if London fields can't do it i may give you a call later on today (wednesday)
Edit, oh yeah I fixafied it, so shoot me. I couldn't resist!!
