I bought a pair of these cheap forks for my fixed hack bike (£19 inc p+p):
http://www.freemanscycles.co.uk/product2.asp?product_id=1235&pname=Steel+ForksI'm going to pick them up from the courier depot tomorrow, so will let you know what they're like. If I recall correctly the fork-stem is approx 11" of which 4" (or was it 7"?) is threaded. So should just need cutting down to size.
I wouldnt ride the bent forks or attempt straightening them out, as it causes fatigue points. If you like riding free handed, bent forks tend to pull, or you have to weight one-side to balance the bike.

alright rhys, don't worry I won't tell anyone you have gears.

I have some Bianchi Pista green forks going spare, brand new. You can have them for £15.

threaded?

Yes.

Picked them up at lunch time. Were well packed with axle spacer. Approx 7" was threaded of 11". Forks also had mudguard eyelets and front brake bolt hole. Minor imperfections to black paintwork finish, but good enough for the hack bike. Heavy steel as you would expect. Fork shoulders were of the concave arch type.

I have a fairly new (no blemishes) set of tange chrome forks with mudguard eyes 15cm of steerer and plenty of thread, normal road rake and about 3/4in of fork crown clearance with 23's. £20 if you want.

Post-incident last week, I now have teeth, and less pain, and my attentions have turned to my bike.
Definitely the forks are gone, and the frame appears to have sustained some damage.
Now, it looks to me like the torque of the forks taking the impact have twisted the headtube, and caused that crease in the downtube, and the top-tube has bent down to remain attached. The image on the right has an old seat post taped to the top tube at the far end, to show what "straight" should be.
I suspect this is now a much weakened part of my frame - and it needs replacing. Can anyone confirm that one for me?
Cheers!

gutted mate.
any cracks?polo bike it?
-

No cracks, but yeah, think that it might get polo-biked once I've figured out where I'm going to be living after the end of this month.
They did a fucking awesome job with my teeth!
(Apologies for blurry mouth pictures!)

Fuck, that's brilliant, they Photoshopped your teeth back on? Amazing.

get in touch with IRO about the frame. i think they still do a crash replacement program - crashed/unrideable frame gets you a new frame at cost... at least they used to do it.

I wouldn't ride that frame anymore. I hate seeing dead bikes... :(

bent my forks....
think the left fork thing is bent
can i bend it back into place?
yea i was drunk -
• #19
you can try, post a video of it if you do, i need a laugh, i have re written my CV 3 times to day.

• #20
lol, do u reckon i could take it to a shop and they could bend it back for me?
-
• #21
no, i reckon they could sell you a new pair of forks, that would fit your frame.
-
• #22
No, because they can be liable in case of subsequent fork failure. If it is only a minor bent, you can try to align back it yourself, but it's hardly unlikely that you will be able to get it back to the same original position, so your steering would tend to lean to bent side.....

Bar spinz?
-
• #24
its not really a bad bend its like there jus not straight and when i try push em back they spring back out cause im not strong enough to push them enough into place. i reckon a stronger person could do it though

how far out of alignment is the fork blade?
rode into the back of a bus this morning - tit. My forks have bent back towards the frame from the bottom of th headset down - not enough to stop turning but the thing rides damn weird. Any advice on bending back or ideas where I can get some cheap temp replacement fronts? standard 1" threaded?
