Hmmm - I read somewhere that stove-tops were the worst way to make espresso. Apparently the water is too hot, gets repeatedly drawn through the coffee and makes it taste burnt. I've never used one though!
I hate to admit it, but my g/f and I recently bought a Nespresso machine. I wanted a traditional one but my other half hates the mess they make. We are really impressed with the coffee, but hate the whole marketing/lifestyle thing they are trying to sell.
We are aware of Nestle's bad reputation... but if we wanted to boycott everything bad, we'd have to go and live in the mountains and wear sacks, and grow our own food!
