So babyfunbike (Raleigh) is finished - thanks to Dale for the wheelbuild and Seb for playing with the tyres a lot, and BLB for not getting sick of me going in there 8 times in one afternoon for rim tape, tubes, brakes and drilling.
And here it is next to big serious bike:
Yes I know it looks like marshmallow/easter egg vomit - that's what I like, so... pish.

well yeahhhhhh....although I am thinking that the lovely pink and purple Scottbag might be pilfered from Matt on days when...er,...um....maybe I might hide it when he goes to work (before me) huh.
The only trouble is a bag to match this one would not match my other bike, innit. Could you do a pastel coloured one though, just out of curiosity? I pay you gin and tonic, ha.

A G&T to the man on his next trip/move to the big smoke, yes! Maybe I might be in the market for a teal-coloured one, a few months down the line, yup.
Thanks for the compliment on the rims slaytanic, a major hassle they were! Glad I don't have to faff about with them any longer. Whew :o

Love the frame paint job, is it a repaint or a powdercoat? If its a PC was it armourtex and do you know the number and did you lug line yourself? Phew, sorry for so may questions, but that's close to my next plan.

no changes to face yet.did you take that pic with your fancy SLR camera? hope you don't ride your fancy bike the same way you take pics with your fancy camera!
still, it emphasises the brightness of the paint. photos almost never do justice to the paint jobs on alot of kierin bikes, always look better in the flesh. -

was that you I saw on Friday at that stupid junction by Clapham Common near the Tescos in Balham? I was the guy on the green and white Dave Russell with the Carradice saddle bag.
Hi - indeed that will have been me. Yay - spotted! (Not on the coolest of bikes mind.)
Did I see you on a fixed on a Thursday at the same place about a week ago? What's your normal ride?

It's neither a repaint or a powdercoat. It's the original paintjob, which is pretty great considering the bike must be 10 years old or more - I just peeled the decals off when I got it.
And dude if you bother using the 'search' function, or even, gosh, like, Google, Armourtex's phone number can be found both here and there. I'm sure there was a thread on this on Friday. A whole entire thread about how to contact Armourtex!
Yes I did the lug lining myself with modellers' enamel (that I mixed up myself), this picture doesn't do it justice at all.

Did you pick up those rims from BLB?No way man that's far too uncomplicated [read: simple and/or cheap] for me, and I never do things the easy [simple/cheap] way! I found them on US eBay - Velocity 650c Deep Vs - for cheaper than in BLB. Then I had them powdercoated by Armourtex, which was awkward because the anodising (or whatever they were treated with) reacted to the bake, so they had to be stripped back several times. And then there's the front braking surface... gah.
Despite the masses of hard work I'm superpleased with the results, anyway.

Oddly enough if you go back over the posts you sarcastically refer to I'm actually one of the people who contacted them when we were looking to bulk buy. Snipe at the right people in future.
What's the frame. Very nice bike btw :-)
