from what i heard, vaz is a bit hit and miss (depends on your luck - so IMO better not risk it). ask roberto, sure he won't ever trust anything to vaz anymore. my track frame i suspect was sprayed in vaz's as well, chips like crazy - one thing people tell me how to spot a vaz job is the white undercoat that shows up where you chip the paint.
i haven't really heard anything bad from armourtex and most people i know go there.

There was a thread not so long ago about Vaz jobs (fnar), can't be arsed to try and find it though.

Vaz and be damned -

vaz is alright and a nice guy to boot (he did some extra work on my bike for gratis - like put in a new headset), despite being a spurs fan. he did a decent job on my frame. a year on it is chipped to fuck but then that's mainly cos of the miles it has seen and the way i look after it.
i am not sure, and from recalling roberto's comments, that i would necessarily use him if i was having anything flash done. and as edmundane says - you will always see that white primer undercoat when the paint comes away

dogsballs that finish looks 10x better than the one that rich has on his from vaz and he was saying it's chipping already.
Agreed vaz was fairly cheep and easy to get to, no bother with post and stuff, but its chipping a bit now, but for a second hand rig that going to be a run arround bike it I think it alright, as said befor 1 week turn arround 50 note its ok not great but ok. shall i say ok again.....ok

Actually an old Trek 950 MTB frame from '89. Yup, gonna stick some V's on it, hunting for them currently!
£60 for strip and powder coat, also got bars and stem blasted to paint up myself. Not the cheapest, but nice job. -

Sweet.
Armoutex is certainly sounding better than Vaz at the moment...
Roll on pay day.

Where abouts is armourtex?? I tried to laquer my frame myself and it looks pretty bodged up, so I need a proper job! Does anyone have a contact number?

Depends on what you want to use your bike for. Something really nice and pretty then I wouldn't get my frame painted by Vaz- numerous reports of chipping paint. If its a city basher then I'd probably get Vaz to powder coat it.
One of the better places to go for a great paint job in London: Colourtech in Crayford, call 01322 555 549. They deal with a lot of well recognised brands. They forward any powder coating to R&G finishers also in Crayford, 01322 526 723.Hope that helps
..a little late
I think I'll just keep the fuji as it is and then buy a new frame at some point. If I keep a hold of things as I upgrade them I'll have a Fuji Track to sell at the end of it.
