works a treat on izumi's which are friggin hard and no problems with heavy duty bmx chain. -

My cheapie Wiggle Lifeline chaintool worked on a Interlock II half-link chain and they reckon you need super heavy duty breaker.
Obviously it's all about operator skill.

ha! yeah I have been using a old multi tool + plyers when needed for 10 years on mbt + bmx chains.

+1 on Izumi fecking chaintools. Tried to use the one on my multi-tool = FAIL
Super toughness indeed. -

i bought a wrong one, ended up putting my old 1/8 chain on
edit: o.... chain tool, not a chain whip lol

I've got a crappy little 'Cyclo' chain tool, £4 I think it was.... I use it on all my bikes, 3/32 and 1/8 and no probs at all...

I bought one of the Park ones cuz it was on sale and I broke my other one. The one on my Multitool works fine on 1/8 chains though.

I've used the tool that came with a Topeak Alien for years - KMCs, IZUMIs, SRAMs, blah.
Whilst we're on the subject, has anyone here successfully used a non-Campag chaintool on Campag 10spd chains? I've read that some people manage it with Park Tools (with due care and attention).

Huh? I'd assumed this was about chaintools, not chainwhips...?
But yes Ratboy, you could do that (if it's a 1/8 cog).

i just use some braided leg hair and a hammer
I have searched but I haven't found an answer
Does any chain tool work on a 1/8" chain? I emailed wiggle and evans, and wiggle says none of theirs do. Evans on the other hand says all theirs do. I find it hard to believe both are right. So, can anyone recommend a chain tool? Value for money rather than cheapest
thanksyouall
