What is the rear spacing on your frame - 120mm / 126mm / 135mm / other?
Is it steel / aluminium?

http://www.machinehead-software.co.uk/bike/chain_length/bicycle_frame_dropouts.html
nevermind.. this is means it can't be made into a fixie?
-
• #35
there are ways round it, but they're expensive + stressful = not worth it for first fixed
-
• #36
and i'd advise you to avoid the term 'fixie' on here
-
• #37
can someone explain why this makes it a problem?
-
• #38
which, saying "fixie" or having the wrong type of dropout?
-
• #39
complience can someone explain why this makes it a problem?
It looks like your frame has vertical rear drop outs which will mean you can't tension your change by moving the wheel backwards or forwards. The easiest solution is to buy a White Industries Eno hub which has an eccentric axle which allows tensioning in the drop outs.
Added: which means lots of €$£ dorras as they are not cheap.

I would just sell your current bike and buy a complete set up of ebay, Fixed gear London or one of the numerous ones posted on this very forum. It will save a lot of time and hassle. Also look into the 2007 model bikes that may be going cheap.

I appreciate you not turning this into Battlestar Fattatica. To be honest I don't think I've ever eaten any US sweets. The only thing I can think of is Jelly Belly jelly beans.. I'd buy a shitload of them off ya! :)
