Hubs in Black?

Posted on
  • Hi there!!
I've just ordered rims for my new wheels (black Mavic CXP22).
Any suggestion for good quality black single/fixed hubs.
I think Formula, but, just in case you have e better proposal.
    Many thanks ;-))))))

  • the condor/goldtec hubs are nice in black. slopey.

  • phils
    normal goldtec
    surly
    those other ones BLB sell

  • Thought of it...don't they have a wider than the standard 42 chainline?

  • I couldn't afford the Condor/Goldtech ones so bought the Condor UNO (£55 ish for the pair) hubs instead. Pretty basic but i had money on me and they looked good. It was either those or the Surly version.

  • I mean Goldteck’s chain line...

  • could get dura ace's though they do have a silver part to them

  • gran compe's provide a nice middle ground. same hub body as formula/iro/sys ex/etc but no cut outs, and have nicer bearings/hardware.

  • Formula have cartridge bearings and are fixed/free. I also like Miche Primato with SKF cartridge bearing but they don’t do fixed/free (if so I would consider even in silver)…I think…Phil Wood are good but expensive.

  • hassanr gran compe's provide a nice middle ground. same hub body as formula/iro/sys ex/etc but no cut outs, and have nicer bearings/hardware.
this is what i was meaning above. wider chainline with paul comp or goldtec is not a big problem.

  • or hell, go all out, suzue promax carbon. hellz yeah.

  • Hey...just checked gran compe's Gran Compe hubs...they look good anyone else to recommend them?

  • never used them, but seem ok.

  • I've been using a pair of Gran Compe hubs, laced with black open-pros, for the last 10 months. No complaints so far.

  • i use gran compes on the iro and have had no problems

  • powdercoat some dura ace hubs ;)

  • I've got some PAUL. Ace!
Just over £100 a pair. Strong as fuck and roll for ages...

    +1 for the gran compes

  • .... but you're lacing to cxp22's! Why the fuss?

    :P

  • +2 on aidan's (turd's) behalf for the grand compes, have served him well (he has the black ones, as well.)

  • I have just got them in silver (gran compes) and they seem nice.
Just got to mate them to some rims, then I can see how they roll!
