  • asm Raise your hand if you wish that 4 OD/BBC iPlayer was mac compatible. :(

Edit: raise your hand if you wish that apple would license their DRM software for third party use. :(

I'm not putting my hand up. The very things mentioned above improve my quality of life. I'll find a bit torrent or something if it's worth watching, but generally less TV output is good for my brain and well-being. I watched a torrent the other night, and during the credits, the TV announcer talked about what was coming up next. It was fucking weird. Just some disembodied voice going on about a universe I'm not really part of anymore. So glad we don't have a TV anymore :)

But here's a link to some hand-raising related telly of yore:

  • ads The phrasing of "school run mums" is annoying mainly because it is the sort of thing the Daily mail print.

Ah, but context is key here. According to TWWST (and to us), the 'School Run Mum' is a lazy sod, who wraps her children in cotton wool to the extent that she dare not let them walk anywhere. To the Daily Blackshirt, sorry Mail, she's a maligned super-hero, who should not be vilified for simply wanting to keep Araminta and Tarquin safe from the ruffian hordes of the working classes.

  • i dont have access to tv either, but if 4OD worked on a mac i'd be able to watch this here program which is sort of relevant to a certain lifestyle choice we all have in common!

  • nah its the downloadable iplayer that doens't work, though if you set a windows Virtual Machine it works fine :)

  • I watch bikes on TV because I just don't get enough of them the other 20 hours a day..

  • in other TV news did anyone just see that show on eunuchs!!! Jesus f**king christ it will give me nightmares for weeks!!

  • Conan in other TV news did anyone just see that show on eunuchs!!! Jesus f**king christ it will give me nightmares for weeks!!

put me right of me pickled egg…

  • A how many people are still not using a car for the trip highlighted above in Marloe.

Also the local authority promised a cycle lane, will it be any good?

Good program I thought, I know the woman was a bit annoying but she did a good job.

I am interested in seeing if the same techniques work for a more working class town. I think they are going for Boston Linconshire next week, the fattest town in the uk.

iplayer works fine for me on linux. It is fucking c4 with their download player thing.

  • but you have to sit in front of your computer to watch it. Good for snippets but not what the service was supposed to provide for all platforms.

The BBC's technology arm had developed their own codecs a few years ago. Shame they didn't use those and make it completely platform neutral!
