If my mates aren't doing the BHF, then I guess I won't need to do it amongst 29999 numpties on hybrids, so...

did the official one last year, but wish i'd started earlier than 7. Am doing it again this year but not sure whether it will be geared or fixed yet. Dont really fancy going fixed in a road full of hybrid numpties either
would be up for a LFGSS one tho! -

i broke a friend's arm once.
it sounded like a pistol shot.
freakin' a.

pj i'd be up for it, i guess. although to be perfectly fank, for these longer rides, i.e 4+ hours in the saddle, i'd rather use gears, that's what they are for. i prefer to go downhill at around 45mph without spinning out savagely. i like descending. i like climbing as well, and prefer to do that with a range of gears too, thus maintaining a rhythm.
i know, call me old-fashioned, retarded, whatever. and it is fun to all get toegther and ride fixed.
You know, I was thinking this.
I like my long rides to be more comfortable, and faster.
I'm good either way, but if there is a faction going geared then I'll probably do the same... I just love those insanely fast descents.

ooooh.... mankini chafing...
i'm up for a ride to brighton, but not in a huge crowd, and preferably on my road bike.
so that's a maybe for me?

poofs!!
-
• #43
That's quite a selection of injuries. Were most of these involved in one big crash all at the same time or something.
I tend to go down fast hills at a controlled pace. So fingers x -

hippy, you joining us on the spesh?
-
• #46
we gonna lock in a date for this? this will be a good training run for those doin the dunwich epic in mid july.
-
• #47
We could do the actual date.
I mean... let's not bother registering or anything... just turn up really early, jump the start line and go to Brighton.
The best thing about this is that the roads are closed.
-
• #48
Doing it on the day is all very well, but you've got to remember that the only way you'll get home is by riding it. Southern Trains always employ a total bike ban on that particular Sunday.
I know for some/most of you riding back wouldn't be a problem, but I just thought I'd mention it!

Pool together, book a coach and a van. What's so hard about that? You'd have to pay for the train ticket anyway.
beware of the curse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
