After a pretty horrendous experience converting an old peugeot (seatpost, rear dropout spacing etc etc.) I was wondering which decent quality frame manufacturers used the most 'standard' sizing, threads etc on their bikes.
I'm looking to buy a nice 80's road bike to convert (or track bike with more relaxed geometry if that's possible), maybe spend a bit of money on with paint, kit etc. but I don't want to be stuck trawling ebay for weird size components.
I understand there's probably no straightforward answer but any advice would be a start..
Once, just once i'd like to know what it feels like to be sat on a 27.2mm post if you get my drift.
