I've spent ages on Sheldon's site but never seen that page

I know, it's like a labyrinth...
I hope, when the poor old codger carps it (not that long by all accounts) that someone compiles all his info into a comprehensive and easy to search database.

Does anybody use an EAI sprocket with goldtecs? I've just received a shiny set of goldtecs laced to cxp33s (nicey-nice) and tried to attach an EAI steel sprocket but they don't like each other. I could go at them with the chainwhip but this is giving me a fairly large amount of fear....
The sprocket has the letters 'ISO' upon't but the hubs are saying nothing and the betd website is equally as tight-lipped. Anybody have any ideas? -
• #34
Did you grease 'em? Did you thread it on a little, unthread, then thread it a little more?
If they are new they are often tight. DON'T MISTHREAD -
• #35
No and er, no. I got too scared but I shall try again. The sprocket goes on clockwise and the lock-ring anti-clockwise, no?
-

when i fitted an eai to my new goldtecs i thought i was going to strip the thread it was that tight, spent a bout 20 mins threading it on and off really carefully going further and further each time and checking it was still square.

Good. That makes me feel slightly better. I shall break out the lube and ease her on slow-like.

Don't know why that made me laugh...probably because I'm 5!

Anyone know what brands of sprockets use what threads? besides the obvious.
Looking for something to go on my dura ace other than a dura ace (as I want it bigger than 16T).
Can't seem to find a list anywhere of who uses what threading. -
• #41
DA track is 1.370"x24tpi threading.
-
• #42
yeah that part i know. but it's finding out what some of the sprocket companies use is the hard part
-
• #43
DA works on formula hubs, Surly works on formula hubs.... thats as close to helpful as i'm going to get.

Has anyone had any experience of Condor sprockets? Finding it tough to find an EAI steel 18t, Condor swear their sprockets are very close in quality...
-
• #45
I use a 17T Condor sprocket. It works kinda like a chainring but smaller.
-
• #46
i think the condor sprockets are just as good as the EAI. the one i have is quieter than my EAI . at least it seems like it.
-
• #47
they're fine.... the cheap ones and the more expnsive ones.... i've had one of each for ages.
stop being a pussy and ride!...;) -

cheers for the info. Condor it is!
Sheldon, goddam it
there's a chart with common sprocket chainline and shoulder sizes
