i have riser handlebars... does that mean i'm outed?
-
• #5
@ Superprecise - just ride what you're comfortable with... risers are practical for city riding. and see a tongue in cheek comment for what it is.

I brought some deep v's today. They are beautiful.

By the way, guys. I LOVE the way you hate on Arrospok's, Deep V's and riser bars with Oury grips.
Back in Los Angeles, 98% of all the kids ride on something to that effect. My friends and I call them DOUCHEBIKES.
In fact, last weekend there was an art showing of fixed gear bikes in Venice, CA and my mate reports that all the bikes were the same (i.e. Deep V's and Nitto drops)... yawn Which is ironic because the flyer for the event touted that fixed gear bikes are about INDIVIDUALITY. ha!

I have risers currently on mine (back ache doncherknow) and I too had a tube map spoke card lodged in my front wheel.
i moved it to the rear, in the hope of saving.
Moved it back to the front, with all that clicking.
Then somehow lost it.AFter finally being tagged (1 up from spotted) I resent losing said tag.
Anyone have one of thos spoke cards hangin' about that I can, well, you know, have for nothing?PS. Whoever you are: LOVE!

Not everyone !
I am no fan of the Arrospok - but only because of the weight and flexibility, I think they look pretty cool, but would rather be on a solid light Aero wheel like the Hed3.
I love Oury grips, super grippy, brilliant colours, what's the problem ?
Again same with Deep Vs (no need for an apostrophe) not my cup of tea because of the weight, but I think they look pretty nice with all the available colours.

31t®um i love a good tynan rant :)
Outside of concealed masturbation in public, it's my favourite pastime. :)
31t®um i like my risers too.
It gets tiring to hear folk tell you what is right and 'what' is 'wrong'.
Risers, drops, Arrospok, Open pros, road bikes, BMX, vintage, modern track frames, conversions, £50 halfords full suspension mountain bikes ridden by diabetic middle aged women, Oury grips, bar tape, naked bars, naked riders, Hippy, wheelies, coloured tyres, coloured tubes (!?).
If it gets people on bikes and having fun, it's all good.
**except for BMXs with track drops, that just plain wrong.

I am.
No srsly I completely agree that "if it gets people on bikes it's all good" but that doesn't stop me from poking fun at those who aren't like me. Especially if they're just like everyone else!
hey,
came out of the Endurance pub in soho earlier to find a postcard in my viner fixie steed. I assumed it was a dodgy flyer for some indie thing, but lo and behold it was a 'ride on' londonfgss flyer! Put a big smile on my face :-) sadly the postcard fell off en-route, does anybody have jpeg they could upload? needless to say i was bleery eyed, so can't quite remember what the design was.
So are we actively promoting now...?
