• hael I just met Amy in a bar in north london... Ha! she had the same green style bike as Ma3k and she chained it up right next to his ...it did look better ;) heels n wheels indeed
Was a bit of a late one.

  • A really late one.

  • I live on a street very near Columbia Road. Friday before last some kids mere messin in my street jumping across the road squabbling over a bottle of Voddy. I was riding pretty slow (with a frame over my shouder) when these kids nearly knocked me down. After I rode on, the bottle came flying past my left ear and smashed onthe road right in my path. THANKS.

They're nasty little cnuts the kids round there. I have a really scary axe-like thing called a 'billhook' under my stairs and I was sorely tempted to go back out there waving it at them like a nutter, but I'm not ready to get a shank in my ribs just now ... All watch your bikes, bags and backs, and generally be ready to help each other out. These little shits won't stand about watching all us Nathan Barleys ponce about in funny clothes without causing trouble. I would recommend Amy that you talk to the Police about this event if you already haven't, ask them whether they'd mind marshalling it or just being there or whatever.

  • The trixie Chix had problems with the little fvckers on Columbia Rd too, who were difficult and aggressive about sharing the court recently (especially one cheeky bastaad who seemed to fuel the fire in the rest of them )

  • Shank first, ask questions later.

  • been meaning to ask if people are up for playing some polo on the 14th during the fashion show, heels and wheels

    trixy chics maybe?

amy said it was a great idea,
also it means the the council will be behind the idea and maybe we can get the lights on regularly?

  • Skullhead I would recommend Amy that you talk to the Police about this event if you already haven't, ask them whether they'd mind marshalling it or just being there or whatever.

You will all be pleased to know that there will be police and security there so you can enjoy the show in safety!!

  • big mummy smeear been meaning to ask if people are up for playing some polo on the 14th during the fashion show, heels and wheels

Still think this is a good idea as long as it doesn't distract people from the actual show so would be best to do it either before or after but will have to all be checked..? (and Smeear, you and I and the rest of the Wheels and Heels peeps will be too busy for game playing until after I'm afraid (!)

  • ...and you'll be busy working too Scott - in fact why are you even on here you should be busy making bags!! ;)

  • hehehe.....scot got told off....:)

  • Hi All,

I have sad news. The Columbia Road courts light box has had new locks put on it and we can't get into it any longer to turn the lights on. Frickin lame!!
As you all know we tried to speak to the council months ago and they told us they can't turn the lights on when it's dark out (um, er, how can you reason with that logic).
I have a meeting with Louisa from Hackney council (who's doing Heels&Wheels as well) on Monday about this. Who has been really cool so far.
As for playing polo my guess is that the Trixies would be up for it, but not if it's like a show or something. Don't think we're into a "look at the girls" thing. Maybe the BLBP TC crew should show up and crash the party (in a positive way of course) but not just the chicks?
We'd need the council to turn on the lights (and take the new lock off the switch).

  • Roxy

Isn't that court in Tower Hamlets? FYI ...

  • cyclodelic
But you will all be pleased to know that there will be police and security there so you can enjoy the show in safety!!

    ha!!

like book people for standing over there bikes on a footpath. plods are more likely to get shanked than us though, so all's good?!

  • babylons also more likely to get help quick if they need it though, and be wearing stab-proof vests.

I know I sounded like a paranoid posh fuck but I was not happy at someone attempting to maim or murder me with a vodddy bottle, I'm a bit wary innit. I'm sure it'll be mwuah mwuah lahvly dahhling, I'll be there with my little boy hopefully, looking to find and abuse scott about already waiting at least a week for a bag.

  • Skullhead Roxy

Isn't that court in Tower Hamlets? FYI ...

Well nope I don't think so.

  • Oh OK. I live very close indeed to there (wellington row, two streets south of there) , and I've been paying TH borough all my council tax ... I only say it cos Hackney might not have jurisdiction or whatever it might be called.

    Well nope I don't think so.[/quote]

The descisions regarding the court lie actually with Victoria Park officials as the court is within a park/green area. I've already made sure about thsi several times. I guess it's worth having a go at it anyway, maybe one can be influenced by another.

    This thread might help

The details of earlier communication are there

  • aha, I thought I must be missing something, as Roxy seemed so sure.

  • I'm not sure of much but the woman at Hackney Council seems to be.....

  • I got an official notice telling us the road will be closed next thursday, shoved through my letterbox, cool! THAT was from tower hamlets. They got the road, Hackney got the park. Wierd.

  • hey skully, you're really stuck on this one aren't ya? Don't know what to tell you, it will all be ok? we're doing our best? You are more than welcome to help with the problem by calling TH's yourself.

  • owwwww

Hackney & Tower Hamlets are working together on the project as the boarders are so close and we want encouraging more people to cycle to be a London wide project anyway! Sorry for the confusion... Any more questions let me know and I will check it out for you with the relevant people :)
