You will normally find local brocantes (general boot sales) in many little villages on Sundays but like here they are 90% full of someone else's crap...

might also want to try some of the local Trocs (second hand store). Managed to pick up a lovely old school Peugeot racing bike for 40-50 Euros (some beautiful parts and Super Vitus tubing).

If you happen to come across a decent headset that will fit a 1984 peugeot tourer (1 1/8" forks - not sure about how you measure/size headsets) then I will give you $$$ in exchange!

head sets are sized according to fork size so you need either a threadless 1/18th (easy to find) or a french threaded 1and 1/8th (get new forks)

"french bike jumbles".. is that just a play on finding parts with the correct threads? :)

Getting new forks anyway so that makes things a bit easier now, cheers mr crash.
I'm going to the outlaws in South West France for easter and will need to kill a few hours/days at least. Does anyone know of any bike bargain opportunities in France like our bike jumbles over here?
