Messengering is about supply and demand. You don't want alot of messengers where you're trying to work and earn cash as a messenger. Most large cities have a low demand for sending stuff around the city same-day but a high supply of people willing to do it for next to nothing.
Anyways if you're around Friday night, go to the John Snow in Soho or the Duke of York in Clerkenwell.
