Usually due to the number of vents and lightness of it really. The most I pay for a lid is around 60 quid.
I almost always ride with a Giro Xen on - mtbing one but better than nothing. Most people don't seem to wear them on fixed bikes.

Due to a shop buggering up an order for a Specialized Decibel in their sale for £50 they offered me a 2D for £65 (RRP £110) which must be cost price. It is ridiculously light with loads of vents as stated.
