can you get them to fit goldtecs?
-

No idea. The hubs on the evans were drilled for quick releases and the model I fitted was made to replace QRs, I figure there must be something similar for track hubs though, maybe ask London Fields Cycles as they stock pit locks:

yes they do.

don't buy these ones!
they just don't work. pair of pliers on the outer bit gets them straight off. at least that's what it looked like they used when my wheels got nicked!
the actual pitlocks look much better.

went on the pitlock website and saw these which would fit a solid axle
but they're not for sale on wiggle, ribble, chainreaction, totalcycling or evans websites. only place i found which sell pitlock stuff (on line) was cycle surgery but they were for quick release stuff
if anyone finds out where you could get these ones i;d like to know. peace of mind and all that...

Maybe we should ask one of the stores to import them?

Hubjub, you fools, Hubjub.

And the Evans in Holborn used to carry the two-piece set last summer.
But giving Will your money is always a much more satisfying option. -

Pitlock are awesome, allen key or similar are not, I snapped one of the specialized secure skewers t'other day just putting the wheel on, not even over tightening.

Pitlocks are stainless steel too, so survive. Specialized specialize in rusting.

Did anyone every get these M10 Pitlocks for their front wheel? They look very large and I am wondering how they would look on a front wheel. Has to be better than carrying a mini d-lock but how will they look on a slender fork end?

• #13
how will they look?
WTF

carry a mini d, its stronger, allows more flexibility and you can throw it at RPM when he makes fun of your white tyres ;)

lpg they're not very good..
Mine are great, you have to use a chain tug with them but I've had no problems... Bit fiddly is all...

If you mean that pitlocks are not very good I massively disagree with you, all due respect to your opinion, but bollocks. I'm all ears for a better method of securing axles and stuff, but IMHO they get at least 8/10.

so no one really stocks the pitlocks for the solid axle in the UK. none of the obvious sites (that i;ve rechecked or hub jub as was suggested). also a quick ring around relieved that it's only the pitlocks for quick release axles that are on offer in bike shops.
BUT turns out you can buy directly from the pitlock website. it's not the most well thought out website to navigate around but doable. to save anyone the bother if you want to order the M10 pitlock this is the link
it's not cheap compared to the other pitlocks (79EUR for two) but postage from germany is 7EUR

I got some quick release replacements and a seat collar directly from Pitlock a few months back: Placed the order on a Friday afternoon and they arrived the following Monday!
They are very well designed and made and, to my mind, well worth having for the peace of mind alone.

So the solid axle pitlock costs more than a mini D-Lock but weighs less to carry around. You don't need to spend time locking and unlocking the front. Personally I think it is a good way to go unless any one has any awful stories about the solid axle pitlocks?
Getting the front wheel, the seat post and an a-head lock does mean sending quite a lot of money to Germany though. -

There's an idea for the bulk buy thing.. forum order a shitload of Pitlocks..

hippy There's an idea for the bulk buy thing.. forum order a shitload of Pitlocks..
i'd be in for that if it makes it any cheaper.
not sure it would though...
Realizing that I likely got most of my Evans back because the twat was stumped by the fact I had pitlocks fitted to both axles and the seat post. £40 well spent. Don't leave home without them blah blah blah.
