nice looking frame. after you scrape the rust off consider getting it powder coated at aumorex of 40 squid.
your going to want to figure out your bottom bracket axel length so you can sort out chain line. have fun building it up. next ride is mach 14th... see you then?

don't dare re-paint that frame, got some lovely bits. i'd just go over it with some car polish to clean up the surface rust, then go to your nearest hobby shop and get the corresponding paint pot £1.20 ;) . measure the width of the BB spindle and if it's around 109mm you might be in luck.

Ok thank you. being a novice, can i more or less just stick any stem in there. i am looking at some retro style ones on ebay. is it likely that it will fit?

you don't want retro, you want vintage.
1" quill stem.

absolutely
Hi, i have been lurking for a while and have been trying to get my hands on an old frame to build up my first fixie (been riding hardtail mountain bike with rigid forks for last few years, mostly on-road but with some done some off in the past).
I finally, got my hands on this:
Its slightly rusty but I think (hope) a decent place to start (for a modest £40 including p and p).
Just wondering if you could tell me where to go now, in terms of what I need to get hold of besides obvious essentials, and basically what to do?
Also if you think what i bought is a complete waste of time and i'd be better off, cleaning it up and relisting it... be honest!
Cheers,
Joe
