  • Superprecise for that money i could get some rapha!

    Or a bike..

  • for whatever its worth (coming from a US mouth - er, well, fingers), Timberland, Carhartt, Dickies, Ben Davis and Spiewak are all - still - just work wear brands in the US - if they tried to pass them off as "posh" or "upmarket" to us, i think people would just laugh. they sell for cheap because the people that wear them cant afford gucci - but they last for ages. (everytime ive wrecked on my skateboard, ive faired far worse than my dickies.)

HOWEVER, branding houses looking for a new channel to sell in Europe, have licenced most (if not all) of the aforementioned, meaning that not only is the stuff you buy here not real ____ brand, but its not made to the same long-wearing standards, and yet, it is sold on the high street for 3 times as much, because people with little taste, and lots of money will be sucka's for it. lets not forget people STILL actively wear NIKE branded shite - yet we have long since known they have never made quality, and we have all long since known its still overly expensive.

that said, there is a current revival of the traditional work wear ethos - just look at Triple Thread; Edwin & Tenderloin are perfect examples of this - fashion based on real work wear standards, yet sold at 5-8x the us cost of same / similar models. is this final cost worth it?

  • I heard that Bose audio stuff is relatively low end in the US but sold as a premium brand here in the UK. Is this true?

  • http://www.molevalleyfarmers.com/ These guys have a good work wear selection, have had a few jeans from them, plus you can pick up few dozen fencing posts and barbed wire while you are there, some wormer and feed supliment.

  • imo, bose've always been expensive - but no one really respected them, always seemed stuck in the 80's - or infomercials.

  • hael [quote]TheBrick(Tommy) I like carhartt stuff, but I think it is largely overpriced. I do dress "very 12 years ago" though.
    like this?

where did you find a picture of my litte brother? i have been trying to talk skiny jean sense into him for 17 years.

  • The sad thing is in 10 years that picture will be a man wearing skinny jeans and converse, or those fucking plimsoles (which i have 50 pairs of)

  • people wore skinnies in the 80's
just wait it our till its cool again

    you'll have children by then
who will likely not understand just how clever this plan is :P

I've got one of those in my town, great for work stuff, do all the Dickies stuff etc. I bought a Dickies boiler suit for a ghost busters costume and that lasted a night of crazy drinking and silly antics, should wear one all the time :-)

  • Mole Valley rocks....I went into one for the first time this year......wicked shop!
