Chap, if you don't have any immediate luck in recovering it and you are insured, then I'd say it's fairly obvious that you locked it up somewhere (where there happens not to be any CCTV, not that the bill would ever bother checking it for something as petty as bike theft) and when you came back both bike and lock had gone...
In the meantime I'll keep my eyes open and heal well.
