Dammit - would, but will be in Sydney, attempting to not get killed cycling up the the Parramatta road...

  • Oh great.. another cnut going to Oz that's not me.. you're all fsckers! :P

  • What are you guys doing this w/e? Any routes / rides planned?. I did a 50 km out and back route into Kent last w/e while the girl was at the gym just to work out the best route to the green stuff from my flat and I gathered more evidence for Tommy's Law.

    Tommy's Law

No man will beable to ride a bicycle though outer London's zones 5 -6 plus any region not included within zone 5-6 but yet enclosed by the m25 without suffering abuse for riding along.

This law may also hold for women but being a man I can not test it myself.

  • Tommy, it's the Harp Hilly (Hippy partaking), details here:
    http://www.hemelcycling.org.uk/content.aspx?PageID=79

And the Hell of the Ashdown (Brett* and I plus maybe some more partaking):
    http://www.catfordcc.co.uk/Hell%20of%20the%20Ashdown.html

[size=8]* Brett's attendance remains in the balance depending on how an operation on his toe this Thursday goes.

  • He's not lying!

  • Hell of Ashdown looks good. I have already promised myself to the night ride so sunday is out but I may do the 50 km ride on saturday together with the 15 mile to the ride and 15 miles back should make a good bit of training.

    Anyone fancy doing the

    Invicta 400k

    Chiddingstone Causeway 403 km 17th May 2008

    with me?

  • Errrr, no thanks!

  • from cyclosport.org re hell of the ashdown

"Having received 450 advance entries the Catford CC organised event has reached its limit, so will not be accepting any 'on the day entrants' Next Sunday. The organiser Bryan Stout said "Whilst we are delighted that this event has captured the Sportive rider's imagination, we are sorry to disappoint those who were leaving it until Sunday to see what the weather was like. However with a total entry more than double that of last year, we could not have anticipated this situation"."

  • Anyone riding the H of Ashdown, I'll be a marshall down near Bough Beech see you there

  • So, did you guys pre-enter HOTA or not? I'm only now realising the Harp Hilly is after the night ride and I'm going to have to get up at 5.30am to get the train to the start (coach say no ride it).
Anyone else wanna do the Harp Hilly?

Brett - what did you do to your toe? Big op? Little op?

  • Well, I send a cheque just over a week ago, and it hasn't been cashed yet. Will probably give the organiser a ring tomorrow to double check.

Brett entered via PayPal, last I heard was that he hadn't heard either.

I will be with any luck, just want to get a 200 under my belt this year to check my fitness.

  • I'm in the Ashdown, but Brett's out because of his fucked up toe job.

Oh well, hopefully no-one will see me suffer, except for Deano Downing whose name I spied on the entry sheet. I plan to make him whimper on the hills*.

    • By stoving his knees in with a hammer.
  • Entries open 26th Jan (Sat) for COC on June 22nd:
    http://www.circuitofthecotswolds.org/2008/

I'm out coz it's a week before L2P but you guys might be interested.

  • I'm doing the Ashdown too. Number 195. Maybe I'll see you there Sam.

  • Still awaiting my rider pack, if it doesn't turn up this morning I'm straight on the phone! Something's telling me that they weren't expecting such a large interest in this event.

I'll look out for you, fuzzbrain. I'll be easy to spot, I'll be the one in black and grey on a pearlescent pink Olmo going backwards on the hills.

  • Number 343. Had to ring the organiser. A new pack will be waiting for me at the village hall.

I'll probably find some postie trying to do it in my name!
