  • Warning, I've never tried this but it might work:

    What you need is 1 old seatpost the same size, and a seatpost or a bit off some straight bars that are narrow enough to fit inside the new seatpost
    Assuming your old seatpost is the same OD (outside dia.), cut a short section off this (say 50mm), cut a section, twice that length (100mm) off the other narrower seatpost or bars. De-grease and roughen with emery tape inside of seatpost and 50mm section, and outside of the 100mm tube.
    Cover OD of the 100mm length with araldite, and slide the bits together so you end up with an extended seatpost.

    This should give enough support to stop the frame/post failing.
    Only do this if you don't ever want to remove the extender piece again.
