wow. thanks guys. thats loads of help.
(eeehhhh youre right)i will be honest and say i think couriering looks cool, fixed or free im not fussed about but im sure in time i will favour one. from reading that link i never knew how demanding couriering would be. non the less i wont let it put me off, i have popped up to brick lane bikes and i have put a deposit on a set up with one of their own frames that they will be selling soon. its a fixed wheel but it has a flip flop hub so after an initial mess around possible crash and your advise i will switch it to a free wheel. i already do deliveries at work and as ill be riding to work i can use it for that so i can build to my knowledge of the west end and get fit!thanks again eeehhhh, punkpixel, the brick and winston. all of your info is a great help to me. step by step i shall go after having a tester ride on a fixed wheel. so alien but strangely addictive.

Just thought I'd say hi. Found the forum a couple of days ago - I've been riding for a few months N16 to Fitzrovia (thanks to the tax free scheme for getting me off my arse and onto a bike!). I've got a Genesis Flyer, only change has been clipless pedals. Loving the bike and thinking of making the change to fixed. Thanks to the board for some pretty useful stuff on the board about doing this to a flyer.

Ahoy there! I'm between Cambersmell and Peckham near the Art School but prior to that was a Camberwellian for about 7 years or so. Do you know The Hermits Cave? I used to spend so much time there my mates started to refer to it as 'the front room'.
