Where to buy frames/bikes?

Posted on
  • I'm looking for a few secondhand bits and pieces; something to tour on this summer -a proper tourer or an mtb- , maybe new frame for my fixed, and a folder for a mate. I check ebay & gumtree often enough but not seeing much. Am I missing any good resources for finding such stuff online or about london?
    cheers.

oh, and on the off chance, i'm looking for 21"ish frames.

  • look here, but give mesuments in metric, im a yank and i dont know what a 21" bike looks like.

  • Oh my, tourer, MTB, fixed, folding... you need to decide which bike you're looking for ;)

  • maybe the guy's used to mtb measurements. mtbs are usually in inches.

as far as i know, yanks (gov't standards, engineers, etc) are still on the old measure

what kind of folder you looking for 16", 20", 26" wheeled? im thinking of selling mine

  • Cris crash, 21" is about a 54cm. And it looks very much like a bike measured in cm :-)
Fatboyralph, A something with 16" wheels I think. [C.C., dont panic. thats about 40cm]. Could you send me on any pics?
Roberto, for a man with no money I'm surprisingly greedy.

cheers guys, but anyone know any good web sites for this stuff other than ebay?

  • bikeradar.com anothercyclingforum.com cyclechat.co.uk singletrackworld.com

  • try ctc.org.uk forum too, Tourersville Central

  • skim through dunpsters, i've found a couple vintage hetchins and njs track frames this way.

  • whaaaaat? You wind up, all you'll find is used johnnys and rats and stuff

  • this was the end prodect of my one and only dumpster dive. healthy profit as well :D

  • What - whitespace db? Remember that 'Dumpsters' only exist in the US, in films and on teh internets.
'SKIPs' in this country - laaanndahnfgss.com - alright?!

  • dumpster diving is the shit! :) but dumpstered track frames must be stolen...

// Hans - atm livin' on dump to pay for my blingbling vivalo :)
