Hmm steel forks in 1 1/8, nearly impossible to get, unless from an EAI Bareknuckle frame... Easier to order a custom made one, but that would be expensive :(

Kona Project 2 then get it chromed yerself?

What's up with the Surly forks or are you just ready for a change?

There are some 2nd hand 700c P2s on Gumtree if you go that route - save £$s but they will have canti bosses.

I just want it tighter at the front.
I believe it would enhance my enjoyment of the bicycle immeasurably.
:)P2s - too bulky.

Fair play. I think I've still got some carbon forks somewhere with very small rake. You could wack those on for a while if you like/I can find them.
-
• #9
How much would you like for them? Would need to take a look.
-
• #10
Let me see if I still have them first (They're already on loan to someone else and I haven't seen them for a while).
-
• #11
Don't go to any trouble though, seriously.
I don't want you going out of your way for something I am not sure about.
Ideally of course I'd want chrome steel.
Carbon could look out of place on that green plus silver bike. -

Valid. I'd forgotten that there was no black on your Surly.

I was looking for 1" chrome forks a while back. two sources I found (outside ebay) were:
- BLB have a bucket or two full of chrome forks. may be worth a look, although might all be 1"?
- Holdsworth Cycles in Putney can order direct from Reynolds - chrome 531 were about £50-60. might be worth a call to see if they can get 11/8"?

JS, would they be able to order un-drilled track forks 1"??
edit sorry to jump yer thread ma3k. -
• #15
not sure - I was looking for drilled so never asked. in the end I bought some NOS GIOS forks from ebay, mostly because BLB couldn't be arsed to look downstairs for the forks I wanted and Holdsworth never got back to me after I ordered them.

Hi all,
Looking for some good solid, small to zero rake chrome forks for my Steamroller(1"1/8th).
Can anybody point me in the right direction?
Oh, and they gotta fit 28Cs.
