tell me about it. finding reliable web/flash programmers is incredibly hard. More teeth-sucking than a branch of Pimlico plumbers.

have you popped a post on something like the ComputerArts forum? always a bunch of pro's, semi-pro's or dweebs ready to help for a few bucks. you might be able to get the script tweaked for free too, if you can paste it into the flash file. anyways, worth a shot:

Matt, i'll maybe consider that, thought i would try here as most people are laahndaan based and it's easier to burn their houses down if i'm not happy with their work

fair point. there are loads of other flash specific sites/forums too if no local web monkeys can help on here, i had a go a producing my own site with a little flash, and it drove me quite insane. in the end i used doo-dah called simpleviewer which builds your folio from a script in photoshop's automate menu. quite simple, or i'd recommend the java app called lightbox, of which there are a few variations around. fully customisable effects too. nice.
good luck with the site though, i know there is nothing worse than working on your own site. -

thanks to everyone who replied, looks like this will hopefully be sorted
i need some work done on a my website as the person who designed it can't get a row of thumbnails to scroll when clicking through images in the window above the thumbnails.
basically only half the row of thumbnails are visible and if somebody wants to click through the bigger images above the thumbnails need to start scrolling when they have reached the last visible image in the thumbnail row.
it's hard to explain but obvious when you see the site as it so far, it's not online yet but i have the whole website folder on a ftp site that those interested can download, i have asked around and most people have said they are really busy and some have said that they may want to re-write the whole site themselves rather than try to integrate new code.
if you are interested in quoting for the work then whisper me and i'll give you the link to the file, you are probably a hardcore web person who does this stuff freelance all the time, and can do this sort of thing while eating a bagel and posting on here.
it's also quite urgent!
Gary.
