Perhaps you ride too hard for 3/32! When the chain's tight the teeth are under lots of pressure. That's why BMX's are 1/8.
It was a cheap sprocket too so there's always the chance something could go. At least you got to it before the chain came off...
Or maybe the tooth fairy? Put the rest under your pillow. ;-)
