Would you say this is too much?

  • i've been offered a condor i think the frame is an italia? correct me if i am wrong, phil hubs carbon forks campy cranks and brakes, veloce i believe, asking £700 which i thought was too steep? what would be a reasonable price for this ride? any help would be appreciated

  • what year and what wheelset do they come with? a brand new italia veloce is £950...i think they come with a fulcrum racing7 or campy vento. i think there's an upgrade on tubeset and/or carbon fibre stays on the new model

  • its all alloy no carbon, i didn't take note of the rims just the phil high flange hubs flip flop rear with two eai sprockets

  • isn't the condor italia a road bike with gears which has vertical dropouts?

  • there used to be a track model branded italia as well.....couple years back....
how much use has it seen???? i would say its not so steep if in reasonable conditions.....phils are minimum 170.....build with rims......270minimum.....probably round 300......that leaves you......with 400........campa cransket.....100 minimum.......leaves you with 300.......for frame, forks, stem, bars, saddle ,seatpost, sprockets, chain, chainring maybe pedals, bottom bracket,headsetbrakes,levers.....all assembled, hassle free...... what would you expect????

too steep......buy a converted crappy vintage looking bike with system ex hubs..and you are sorted...:-)

  • that's why I asked what you thought of the price because I didn't know
how much it would have been originally. I'll go and get some pictures this afternoon so you can see the condition of it, although from the quick glimpse I had yesterday it looked like it had been built then hung up for a couple of years and never ridden.

seems like a nice deal then........italia was made back in the days when the condors still had normal headsets and didn't look crap:-)........sorry if i come across a little bit patronizing.....it was late and i thought this was one of the "ooohhh but i can have that from states for a jar of peanut butter and couple sheeps, can you lower the price" posts
definitely good price if not overused:-)...if you dont want it lemme know which size and i may do q:-p

  • oh a track frame. the veloce bit put me off...weird, did the italia ever come in a track version?

  • yes back in the days

  • pictures:

  • Nope, not too much. It looks in reasonably good nick and great components.

  • looks a like a really nice bike, get it

  • Same price as a new basic spec Pista.

Looks like a deal to me.

Depends if you fancy a generous helping of "middle" based abuse from comedy Northeners.

    Hasn't spoilt mine.

  • that's odd the deda com 12 sticker suggests it's steel, com 12 is their cheapest steel tubeset which was used on the barknuckle and is only available to oem manufacturers and not listed on the deda website. the tube profiles look like a pista which is sat14 tubeset (next one up is eom 16) but i thought com 12 was round profile only?
i would call condor and ask them what exactly it's made of.
or put a magnet up against it :-)

  • Com 12 is also used on the Paddy Wagen.

My Pista doesn't have a Deda label at all.

Surely Colourtech put the labels on anyway?

  • That's a pretty good deal. The cranks cost about £150 new as well as the wheels being really nice.

  • not to mention the thomson stem etc...

seems a bargain, and i really like the paintjob

  • kowalski Com 12 is also used on the Paddy Wagen.

    ?

that's because they gave you one of the joke ones - re-badged Halfords

  • pmsl!

  • For the insane money that bikes go for over there that's a pretty good deal with those components. Personally I could probably build that bike new for less but that would involve lots of things like shipping.

  • it's looks pretty newish and not much wear. if you didn't like it you could strip it and make £1000 ;)
